ERIKS Digital is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager


Within ERIKS Digital we are developing platforms to support four product domains (Customers, Pre-Sales & Sales, Suppliers & CoE, Supply chain & Finance). Our customer facing propositions are based on proprietary software or build from the ground up by using innovative technologies.

Our Smart Asset Management Platform is a paid platform to provide actionable insights on critical parts at our customers facilities. The product has enormous potential with new concepts in IoT, AI, ML, etc.


As our Lead Platform Engineer R&D you will be involved in multiple platforms with strong focus next year in the Smart Asset Management Platform. Your primary focus is on R&D type of projects and less day-to-day feature development. You will work directly with senior business stakeholders and the Product Manager of SAM in driving the R&D for the platform and develop PoCs for new solutions. When PoCs are successful, they will be picked up by the Product Manager and matured by the SAM platform team. You will work closely with our Data Engineers in the Data Office to support the development of your PoCs.

The role has no people management, but in some projects, you can have technical leadership while developing PoCs with other colleagues. As the primary focus for next year is on SAM, you will work on R&D for other platforms as well. Though the R&D focus is key for future development, we have to consider delivery in reasonable timeframes and costs.

You will be reporting to our Head of Digital Platform Customers.


Job duties and responsibilities

  • Driving R&D with PoCs in close collaboration with our senior Business Stakeholders and Product Managers.
  • Defining innovative solutions and assessing them with PoCs
  • Having an innovative out of the box solution driven mentality
  • Handling professional communication with all (senior) stakeholders involved
  • Able to solve technical challenges
  • Able to properly handover POCs to platform teams for maturing a concept



Requirements

We are looking for someone with:

  • >5 years of experience in working with Java
  • Thorough understanding of Spring and its core principles (data, security, contracts, etc)
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs
  • Relevant experience with cloud development platforms. Azure platform a big plus
  • Strong TDD mindset - unit, integration and E2E
  • Experienced in our preferred stack
    • Java + Spring
    • Testing with Junit, Mockito
    • Git
  • The following is a plus:
    • Azure Service BUS
    • .NET
    • Oauth2 & Azure AD
    • Swagger
    • Docker
    • Highly decoupled systems implementation patterns
    • Serverless / FAAS paradigm
    • Experience in leading Front End developers operating in the React stack
